Steven Zhu (who goes by his last name only) is a singer and EDM producer who works mostly in the deep house style. A lot of his pieces are relatively mid tempo, and his music tends to push up the beat rather than lay back. His ballads are generally R&B flavored with tight dance beats underneath, while his soft falsetto singing voice occasionally blends into his synth work. His music drifts towards some techno and downtempo at times. He has the knack for having his pieces shift directions unexpectedly such that, for instance, a song that starts as a cold and precise dance floor number can change its texture when he adds some dark western guitar, introduces R&B vocals, or jazzy passages that soften the rigidity of the piece halfway through.
