We Don't Ride Llamas (also WDRL) is Mitchell siblings who play indie rock with a good deal of versatility and stylistic diversity. Chase Mitchell, who plays the guitar, has a nice jazz touch but can also tighten up and snap into rock then flow right back into jazz. Vocalist Max Mitchell is equally flexible when it comes to their stylistic shifts, with a smoky voice that provides another center of gravity for the band. The rhythm section with Kit on the bass and Blake on the drums typically play it straight and tight. They bring the funk and the swing, and kick it up a few notches when they turn to punk. Their songs are well constructed regardless of their stylistic detours and their delivery is well-grounded across the board.
