urika's bedroom

urika's bedroom is the Los Angeles based artist Tchad Cousins, who has thus far been a fairly private person, at least as far as the public media is concerned. Their sound is driven by the bedroom esthetic promised by the moniker through its desktop production style and bashful delivery through coupled with murmured vocals. Their songs fall mostly in the pop and rock hybrid range, with a strong pull towards atmospherics and a woozy, trip-hop type of headspace that they inhabit. The music lays its hooks into the audience not necessarily on account of its catchiness, but by its directness and the absence of any overt pop sheen. All that adds up to high quality DIY music that is most certainly a grower.
