Tycho is a band that grew out of the solo ambient work of electronic musician and producer Scott Hansen, which evolved over time to become a trio that makes electronic music with traditional pop dynamics. The band creates a hybrid sound with the basic flow of pop, including the beats and the breaks all playing out in a relatively mellow manner. Their 2019 album Weather was a first in their catalog when they included vocals, delivered by Saint Sinner, aka Hannah Cottrell. They were focused more keenly on the ambient angle as they put together fairly subdued, intricately layered pieces building into a larger soundscape as they progressed. Their 2020 album Simulcast is a reworking of Weather with vocals stripped out and rearranged as instrumental pieces.
