Titus Andronicus

Titus Andronicus is a rock band originally from Glen Rock, NJ that combines elements of garage rock and punk in a powerful way without cranking up the aggression. The two main components of their music are the singer Patrick Stickles' often seriously punkish top-of-the-lungs vocal delivery and the rest of the band's strong garage leanings. They have been mostly fishtailing between these two poles over the years, shifting their weight between them, no doubt related to the regular personnel changes they have been going through. Stickles has pretty much been the only constant in their line-up.  His vocals have a propulsive delivery that sounds like a kinder, gentler, and more intelligible Shane McGowan (The Pogues). They are a generally fiery band that plays with a lot of muscle and plenty of quality hooks. Their 2018 album A Productive Cough is atypical in their catalog with its more acoustic instrumentation and overtly melodic songs.
