Brittany Howard

Brittany Howard is the charismatic singer and guitar player who came to prominence as the frontwoman of the highly successful indie rock meets neosoul band Alabama Shakes. She is recognized for her wonderfully textured powerful voice and passionate delivery. On her solo work, Howard tends to take a more adventurous approach and casts a much broader net as she freely picks and chooses from the smorgasbord of American musical traditions, combining roots rock and rockabilly rhythms, neo-soul vocals, jazzy chords, and spoken words while collaborating with Robert Glasper and Nate Smith on experimental tunes.  That said, the home she always returns to happens to be R&B and soul.
