Still Corners

Still Corners are the multi-instrumentalist/vocalist duo of Greg Hughes and Tessa Murray, whose music can be described in broad strokes as a cross between a Beach House style electronic dream pop and the western art pop of Chris Isaak and his ringing guitar sound. They moved around stylistically since they started out in the early '10s, though they mostly stayed close to that particular tone and feel. Shoegaze influences were front and center in their debut album, Creatures of an Hour (2011), which gave way to the dreamy flavor that permeates their music. They then dabbled with some synth pop elements for a while, before their sound began to settle more comfortably in the indie rock meets dreamy electronic folk mold around 2018's Still Air, which fits Murray's misty, gentle voice pretty much like a glove.
