Singer, multi-instrumentalist Sally Anne Morgan brings her personal take to Appalachian folk music as she regularly bends its traditional forms. In some cases the tweaks are light and subtle while in others, she pushes the envelope hard especially with her improvisational pieces and tendency to introduce the drone element into the genre. There are some psychedelic elements in her sound as well that may be reminiscent of some of the classic British folk revival bands of the early '70s such as Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention. It also doesn't hurt that her voice carries shades of the legendary Fairport vocalist Sandy Denny at times. Her repertoire includes a good number of traditional songs in addition to her original compositions.
