Rodeo Boys (not to be confused with The Rodeo Boys) is a band that has taken the classic grunge sound of the '90s fully to heart. There are perhaps some vague tinges of Americana weaving in and out of their debut album Cherry (2019), but their more recent work has seen the band drift closer to the punk side of grunge. They are led by singer-guitarist Tiff Hannay, who has a powerful voice that nails the passion and the attitude of the genre exactly. There is plenty of riffing and shredding that happens between Hannay and the lead guitarist Cody Lee. The bass and the drums come with a lot of weight. Duncan Tarr and Mandy Waltz are propulsive, and they pretty much lay out the solid foundation when the band kicks up a notch or two.
