Raime

Raime is the duo of producers Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead whose electronic music draws from '90s industrial, jungle, and techno styles, put together in dark, slightly nightmarish, somewhat dissonant and fractured tones. They started out as an experimental band with 2012's Quarter Turns over a Living Line, which was more accessible and melodic than their current work. Their sound became increasingly fragmented since then. Their production is always tight, where every bit of sound capture and loop feels purposeful and fully thought through. It is architected music in a way as much as it is composed. Note that it may take a few listens to acclimate to their approach and the artful intent behind their work to become more apparent.
