Otoboke Beaver

Otoboke Beaver, aka おとぼけビ〜バ〜 is a punk band based in Kyoto that has been playing together since 2009 but has only recently begun to break into the western market. In a nutshell, they are an explosive band that produces some of the best punk one is likely to hear anywhere. They are a massively energetic band that plays fast and loud, typically burning through their songs in about two minutes in the classic punk fashion. They are also very skilled musicians, fantastic songwriters who can pack melodic snippets inside that frenzy, and masters of song dynamics in the way they can hit the brakes in the midst of a balls to the wall rampage just to give everyone a breather before they go for another blast. Their songs are primarily in Japanese, although some of the titles may be English. The singer Accorinrin typically takes the lead, but the full band also participates in vocals as a gang chorus in the call/response format.
