The Ophelias

The Ophelias are an indie rock band with a relaxed, gentle, and somewhat dreamy sound that creates songs that are melodically just the right amount of sweet. The band is led by vocalist (and guitarist) Spencer Peppet, who effortlessly navigates between a coffee shop type intimate folk and shy bedroom pop in her vocal delivery that may also bear a slight shade of Anna Waronker (of that dog.) Andrea Gutman Fuentes gives their music a rich texture and chamber pop ambiance on the violin, which is another aspect of their work that instantly stands out. Her sharp melodies play in and around the main tune driven by Peppet and open them up with a more expansive feel. The result is a sophisticated mixture of rock and pop that underscores the band's diverse and considerably broad range of music.
