Old Crow Medicine Show is a country string band that started in the early '00s whose energy and conviction helped refuel a generation's interest in various Americana genres and styles. They have been playing Appalachian folk, bluegrass, old-timey country and folk, and pouring their hearts into their music for a couple of decades now. They started out as a busking band, and they still operate that way, in a sense: they are quick and snappy, and have a knack for grabbing the audience's attention and not letting go until they are done. Their enthusiasm and earnestness, and most of all, their contemporary musical sensibilities have made them a band that finds a way to speak even to audiences that may not otherwise be in tune with country music. As a side note: their 2017 live rendition of Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde end to end is not to be missed.
