Pokey LaFarge

Pokey LaFarge is the stage name for singer/songwriter Andrew Heissler, who's both a complete throwback to the early to mid 20th century American music of all walks and a sharp reinterpreter of the old musical styles through a decidedly more modern lens. He has been producing albums since 2006, and he has had the chance to work in a variety of styles ranging from old-timey blues and jazz to western swing and the classical country sound, all of which he delivers with a sharp and quirky sense of humor and loads of fun. Perhaps the most remarkable thing about LaFarge is that he not only brings out these classic musical styles, but he also recreates the sense of what it must have felt like to be listening and dancing to this music back in the day with all the rowdiness that went with it.
