Nourished by Time

Nourished by Time is the stage name used by singer-songwriter Marcus Brown, who has an eclectic style that draws from a variety of sources in the land of indie pop and R&B, and is particularly keen on a few popular trends of the '80s including post-punk and synth pop sprinkled around what appears to be his core interest, new jack swing. What he does is not so much a loving recreation of something that belongs in the past, but assembling a collage of contemporary pop using artifacts that are in the front of his mind. There is a discernible lo-fi feel to his production that gives his music a down-to-earth quality. He consistently keeps his tunes catchy, and his delivery, even-keeled.
