Nia Archives is a producer, singer, songwriter who injects breakbeats of jungle and drum 'n' bass into contemporary R&B sound to create a kind of pop that is soulful, melodic, and carries some emotional resonance, while at the same time has lively, upbeat vibes that punch through the haze. Her already captivating melodies level up further by the power of her beats. The way these two elements are coupled so tightly in her music is not unlike the way rhythm becomes integral to the melodic flow in Latin and Afrocuban styles, and the outcome is just as irresistible and thrilling. Her initial set of songs were steeped deeper in the jungle tradition, but she has been continuing to stretch her sound further out to incorporate some bossa nova, light jazz, and soft rock components as well.
