Low Cut Connie

Low Cut Connie started out as a band led by the Philadelphia based singer-songwriter and pianist Adam Weiner, but ended up being his stage name after a series of personnel changes. Despite his occasional visit to blues or dabbling in ragtime riffs every now and then, Weiner's main focus has always been on old school, piano driven rock'n roll, which becomes a living, breathing thing in his hands with all its upbeat rowdiness. He and his band play it with the kind of lived-in feel that suggests it is the music they still play and people dance to in the weekends at the local bars in their hometown, rather than it being a stodgy tribute to a dated art form that they are trying to recreate. Weiner began to expand their stylistic range on 2020's Private Lives, leaning more into blues, adding some soul and R&B songs, along with some ballads in there as well.
