Library Card

Library Card is a Rotterdam based band with a distinct post-punk style that mixes elements of garage and noise to derive an intricate sound that is as likely to go on a sonic burst as it is to keep it hushed. Underneath the speak-singing cadence of vocalist Lot van Teylingen and the tight and repetitious riffs, there is a bit of a Sonic Youth type attack to their presentation as well. They play with a rough and dirty feel and an explosive demeanor. Kat Kalkman's bass provides a sturdy anchor to the rest of the band, which gives guitarist Mitchell Quitz the room to explore the hidden pathways between post-rock, math rock, and post-punk. Drummer Emre Karayalçin, on the other hand, brings a powerful and dynamic style that drives the band's energy.
