When Kristine Leschper came back in 2022 after a few years of hiatus following the break-up of her band, Mothers, there was a noticeable stylistic shift in her music. She had mostly moved on from her previous folk-oriented and expansive indie rock sound and begun to explore a busier but more intricate sound that was built on a lush chamber pop approach and baroque arrangements that involved a variety of percussive objects, flutes, strings, synths, and so on. There may be a few places that the sound she had developed with Mothers still lingers, but her songs are not as buried in melancholy as before and her voice is more relaxed and forthcoming, not hanging at the razor's edge between a whisper and a wail the way it did. She still has a keen sense of pacing and subtle melodies, all of which now comes with brighter instrumentation.
