King Creosote is the moniker Kenny Anderson uses for his solo work. He has had extremely prolific output under his own Fence Records label, where he released multiple CD-Rs a year since 1997. His releases under the Domino label on the other hand, are the albums that are more readily available for the public. His music is generally a mixture of chamber pop and indie folk, bringing to mind bands like Beirut with respect to its expansive vision. He is a remarkable songwriter both in terms of the body and the quality of the work he has produced. His songs come with solid hooks, accessible melodies, and they tend to exude a lot of charm. He has been living in a small coastal town away from the music industry hubbub, which is not that hard to hear in his distinct voice, slightly on the seasoned side, but also with a nice, gliding quality.
