Kiki Rockwell

Singer, songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist Kiki Rockwell is also a bit of an alchemist in the way she is able to extract a consistent style and sound from all the wide variety of musical forms she incorporates into her work. In her hands, medieval choral effects meld into Latin syncopation, club style electronic dance beats and off-kilter pop bounce off of middle eastern harmonies and rhythms, all of it converging into a satisfying electronic dark pop with a latent gothic accent. The imagery surrounding her work taps directly into elements of Nordic and Celtic mythology, medieval European folklore, and fantasy literature, often filtered through a feminist narrative.
