KeiyaA

KeiyaA is the stage name for Chakeiya Richmond, an alternative R&B artist originally from Chicago.  She studied jazz as an alto saxophonist before she turned to R&B and soul as a singer. She plays all the instruments on her album, making use of loops, overdubs, and electronics in her production. Her music has strong jazz elements in the vocal melodies and some avant-garde, experimental tones in her arrangements, and she pairs those with her own low-key, even-tempered R&B. Her arrangements give her mostly down tempo, quiet, and contemplative music a sense of broadness. The songs tend to be beautifully constructed delicate pieces that take their time.
