Jean Grae
Outline
Jean Grae is the moniker used by multidimensional artist, rapper, producer Tsidi Ibrahim, who built quite a reputation with her rapping and rhyming skills when she was active in hip-hop between the '90s and the late '10s. She did outstanding work as a producer during that time, constructing remarkable pieces of music that range from experimental bits to groovy hip-hop numbers, occasionally mixing in some comedy skits. She wrapped all those ideas in her imaginative and intriguing arrangements. In 2008, she decided to make Bandcamp her main musical outlet, which led to a considerable creative burst captured in a series of EPs. Later, she began to expand her artistic scope in the mid '10s with her focus gradually shifting towards her writing, comedy, and her musical output became progressively infrequent, which is where we are now.
