Holy Boy

Holy Boy is the moniker used by singer-songwriter Helene Alexandra Jaeger whose indie rock is infused with a dark ambient quality. Her songs are usually in the slow to mid-tempo range, with relatively sparse instrumentation. When she settles in her slow burning drone mode, her sound has similarities with the Disintegration era work of The Cure. Drum beats factor heavily into most of her music. Her songs have a strong lyrical quality where the impact of the melody and the groove are scaled back. She has a relatively low, contralto range voice that has hints of Nadine Shah in terms of its timbre and melodic articulation.
