hiçamahiç (Turkish for "never, ever") is a band that creates atmospheric music that uses shoegaze tones to build what often shapes up to be droney rock with occasional metal flavors. It feels like impressionistic music for the most part, with the vocals shrouded by a misty veil that adds a dreamy edge to their sound, where the lyrics happen to be in Turkish. There is a strongly fuzzy component to their work, and the band gives all the elements their due by getting aggressive and propulsive when they turn it up a few notches. They also have a way of downshifting to a slow burning style that invites the listener to dim the lights and perhaps curl up in a comfy corner to let the gloom wash over them.
