Margaritas Podridas is a four piece band that is heavily influenced by the '90s alt-rock/grunge sound and shoegaze. The band was leaning more clearly on the grunge sound in their 2018 EP, Porcelain Mannequin, with some Nirvana elements peeking around the corner. The fuzzy guitar attack and the angry tones gave way to a much tighter sound on their self-titled 2021 debut album, with strong shoegaze guitars, and vocalist Carolina Enriquez embracing a hazy style that contrasts with her earlier work. She also threw English out the window and started singing in Spanish. They slip into the screaming grunge highs on occasion (see "Margaritas", "No Quiro ser Madre") without straying too much from the wall of distortion and maintain a solid drone in songs like "Ceremonia".
