Grrrl Gang

Grrrl Gang is a band that makes sweet, bubbly indie pop that occasionally slides into upbeat indie rock in a way that is reminiscent of bands like The Pastels and The Vaselines. They also show similar male/female vocal dynamics, where guitarist Angeeta Sentana is often the lead singer, and bassist Akbar Rumandung takes on some of the songs or trades lines with her; all of which happens exclusively in English. Sentana has a sweet voice and a natural and relaxed delivery. They have a lo-fi retro feel that comes especially from the spiky guitars they use. The songs are melodically very clear and fairly infectious, as they tend to stick in the mind of the listener without overpowering them.
