Grant Pavol is a singer songwriter who is stylistically somewhere between indie pop and indie folk, borrowing quite a bit from the latter without settling much on either genre. His music also feels like it floats between states, where its misty tones and mellow temperament points at a psychedelic direction but remains relatively subtle about it. He tends to sing in a way that suggests small stages in small rooms in the after hours, sounding vulnerable, intimate, and perhaps a bit on the mumbly side. His songs are somewhat moody where the melodies are not always immediately obvious, but they do rise above the overall fogginess built into the way his music is mixed. His acoustic guitar work is also quite lovely, by the way.
