Grace Ives

Grace Ives is a singer-songwriter with a keen ear towards pop-friendly grooves and melodies, a flair for adventurous sounds, and the know-how to keep her music accessible and fun while coloring outside the lines every now and then. Her songs stand out melodically. They are catchy without being sugary, built around inviting beats, and with quite a bit of textural variety. Her vocals do not jump out with any acrobatics, but they are direct and effective. They are layered through multitracking, adding to her generally lush production. Her initial work was a solo exercise for her working with electronics, but then she moved on to a studio setting with live instruments on her 2022 album, Janky Star, which gave her music a more organic feel.
