Ganavya

Ganavya Doraiswamy is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist with strong connections to the cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu, having grown up in South India before she settled in the US as her career progressed. Her music combines the region's traditions with western forms to create a sound that is deliberate, introspective, and serene. It comes with ambient undertones that invite the listener to a perspective shift with its hard-to-miss spiritual resonance and overt devotional flow. There are also threads of jazz that weave in and out of her catalog, including her 2018 debut Aikyam: Onnu as well as her 2024 album of collaborations, Daughter of a Temple. Arooj Aftab's work may be a good reference point in broad strokes, but Ganavya's music is quite distinct and follows its own stylistic path.
