Ezra Furman is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, originally from Chicago, who writes and performs consistently strong tunes with an idiosyncratic glam-inspired indie rock and art punk style. Her music is rich with hooks, often as creative and effective as what PJ Harvey was doing in her lo-fi days. Furman's music also shares a similar lo-fi esthetic and art punk tendencies. In addition to high powered bursting guitar mode, she also has a rolling semi mid tempo post-punk type mode. There is a Bowie-like streak in her music when she tones it down. She is also not a stranger to indie folk and dream pop, which was part of her style early on. She sing with a balls to the wall kind of passion that underscores their fiery core or her often brutally honest lyrics.
