Erika de Casier

Erika de Casier is a singer-songwriter whose work lies primarily in the intersection of traditional R&B and pop, but in reality, also involves a fair amount of understated jazzy instrumental passages and hip-hop style beats as well. She makes use of gentle Latin syncopation dispersed throughout her tracks. Her 2021 album Sensational also makes use of subtly placed classical music phrases in the intros and transitions. Her music is calm and relaxed, and her arrangements sound deliberate and intricate, with a lot of detailed interactions taking place in the background, sophisticated musical snippets that add more texture, multitracked vocals creating complex melodic lines, and so forth.  She sings with a breathy, whispery voice, and subtlety in her delivery.
