The Eds
Outline
The Eds are a band that adopts the concept of a throwback as they generously tap into the classic '60s rock and rock'n roll sound for the bulk of their work, keeping their songs bare-bones and as straightforward as they could possibly get. There is early Hendrix in there, The Ramones in some places, Marc Bolan at times, plus a number of other threads that weave in and out of their songs. They are led by singer-guitarist Samuel Hooper who must have come into posession of a massive record collection somewhere and devoured it all with an apparent love for the down and dirty sound of that period, which the entire trio is in tune with. Their songs are often short and sweet and to the point.
