Dominique Fils-Aimé is a Montreal based singer-songwriter with an exceptional ability to channel the energy of great artists from an earlier era, such as Nina Simone or Roberta Flack, in terms of her knack for mixing blues, jazz, soul, and gospel, while also finding a fully contemporary and distinctly personalized style in her musical direction. The sense of jazz is quite strong in her work, though her initial set of albums were leaning more heavily into blues and R&B.
