Diet Cig

Diet Cig is the guitar/drums duo Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman, who deliver bubbly pop with a bit of an edge that captures a couple of musical trends that were at the forefront in the early '00s. Their music often plays like a balancing act between the teenage oriented sweet pop prevalent during this period (say, Avril Lavigne), and the kind of pop with punk aspirations that was popular perhaps more with the post-teen audiences at the time (the Green Day, Blink-182 sound). There are even occasional hints of emo especially in Luciano's vocal melodies. It is to the band's credit that they are able to take these threads and weave them together seamlessly into a set of vibrant songs that stand out both in songwriting and execution.
