Outline
Danielle Ponder is a Rochester, New York based singer-songwriter with a powerful, stunning voice that has to have been created specifically for singing soul. She has the vocal timbre and range that the genre demands, and can belt out with pretty much the best of them. Just as impressive is the flourish she adds to her delivery that suggests a deep love for the great singers of the classic era of soul. She also handles lower tempo ballads with similar deftness and has a way of getting to the emotional core of such songs. Her lyrics tend to draw a great deal from her years of experience as a public defender (forreals), which also been coloring her interactions with the public.
