Daniel Caesar is the moniker used by the Toronto based singer-songwriter, alternative R&B artist, and crooner extraordinaire Ashton Simmonds, whose music generally favors a warm and organic presentation. He performs his songs with mostly acoustic instruments, rather than synths and electronic effects that are fairly common in modern production. His songs are usually low to mid-tempo ballads that typically exude a sense of vulnerability and melancholy.
