Crystal Canyon

Crystal Canyon is a band that takes a middle lane between dream pop and shoegaze, opting for a combination of swirly melodic sweetness and a type of fuzzy, reverbed guitar attack that gives their music an extra edge. They play that ambiguity perfectly as they regularly shift between the two sides, where vocalist Lynda Mandolyn oscillates between sweet and misty, and the instrumental part of the band, especially the guitars, either intensify the attack or mellow it down. Theirs is not a particularly aggressive form of shoegaze, but it does get there at times. The band uses the back and forth effectively in terms of creating breadth as well as an emotional range. Their overall sound and range has remained consistent since their self-tiled debut in 2018.
