Bishop Briggs

Bishop Briggs is the stage name for Sarah McLaughlin, a pop singer with a flair for stomping beats and big vocal bursts that give her songs a dramatic sheen. Her slightly raspy and pretty powerful voice lies at the center of her music as one would expect. Her delivery bears gospel shadings that were especially prominent in her first album, Church of Scars in 2018. By her second album (CHAMPION, the following year), her focus had shifted towards a grand anthemic style designed for stadium size audiences. Her songs have some dark undertones whether she is blasting big choruses or has pulled back to a quieter mode in the few occasions that she does. Her songs have the weight and the presentational force to match the demands of a large audience.
