BabyJake

BabyJake is the stage name for singer-songwriter Jake Herring, an artist who seems to have a knack for coming up with catchy, fun indie rock songs with a pop bend every time he lays down a track.  Then he took a sudden turn into dance oriented electronic sound in 2025. All his previous work up to that point had been borrowing generously from R&B, rap, and disco for sure, leaning quite a bit towards '70s style pop, down to his instrumentation choices in some cases. Melodies continue to be snappy in his new records, the tone is still upbeat, though the grooves are no longer on the mellow side, and the flow is, well, all clubby, which is a far cry from his previous easy-going self.  He is, at the end of the day, a versatile artist who tends to go in different directions as he sees fit (also note his exploration of acoustic folk type tunes in his 2023 album, Rude, Crude, and Uncouth).
