Apollo Bebop

Apollo Bebop is a five-piece band from Santa Ana, California that plays laid-back hip-hop type grooves with a strong jazz overlay. In terms of establishing a hybrid sound, they are quite committed to find a stable balance between both sides, often not tilting too much in either direction. They draw mostly from a soulful style of jazz, occasionally leaning into the classic soft and pop jazz motifs. The rhythm section brings the hip-hop and funk feel to anchor their music while the guitar, keyboards, and the saxophone build a jazz layer on top. They usually keep it at the mid-tempo range. Rapper Brian to Earth (Brian Gomez) is often not aggressive in his delivery, but he can also take it up a notch or two when things get heated, especially in their live performances.
