The Antlers

The Antlers are a band that started out as singer-songwriter Peter Silberman's solo project, soon became a band, and eventually turned into his duo with drummer Michael Lerner. Their music also went through some changes over the years but mostly in its overall tone and coloring rather than a change in genres. The duo pays great attention to mood and atmospherics as they create immersive spaces through their instrumentation.  Stylistically, they cover a territory that ranges from downtempo electronic pieces to a mournful and expansive combination of folk, electronic, and chamber music or folk-tinged serene and pastoral songs. Silberman tends to sing in a light voice that works like a delicate thread that gently holds his songs together.
