Yo Diablo

Yo Diablo is a band with the classic guitar and drums set up between Marcos Herrero and Victor Vila, respectively, who add a fairly distinctive flavor to the format in the way they mix old school indie rock with a variety of other guitar-driven genres, including flamenco, blues, and West African desert blues. Spanish motifs and harmonies factor a great deal into their music, especially in terms of the finger picking style Herrero uses. When they lean in the rock direction, which they frequently do, they typically go into an alt-rock inspired direction, though metal is never that far from their sights, neither is psychedelia, which arguably is the overarching theme of their sound. Their 2023 album “Häxan" was conceived as a soundtrack for the 1922 Danish silent film.
