Vagabon is the stage name for Laetitia Tamko, a singer/guitarist/songwriter who works out of NYC, whose music navigates the terrain between indie-pop, dream pop, and indie rock often with fairly softer edges. She started out in an electric guitar driven indie rock band format, moving closer to a calmer synth-driven sounds and electronically generated beats with subsequent albums. Her songs are always written well, tend to have a strong ballad feel, which was evident in her tense indie rock pieces she started out with. She expanded her rhythmic base on her 2013 album Sorry I Haven't Called, occasionally dipping into hip-hop, drum 'n' bass and West African beats. Her voice had a little Tanya Donnelly type misty quality early on, but as she relaxed over time, her vocals acquired a kind of looseness that is perhaps comparable to an artist like Nilüfer Yanya.
