Turnstile

Turnstile is a hardcore band that emerged from Baltimore's punk scene in the '00s and quickly became one of its leading figures, continuing to cross-pollinate with like-minded bands in the region. Their music tends to have strong metal elements including heavy riffs and guitar leads, as well as their sharp attack on the drums and the bass. They have, on the other hand, been developing a melodic streak in recent years that has become much starker on 2021's GLOW ON, which has added another layer to their music. They have also been pushing towards sharper production, cleaner arrangements, and an expansion of their sonic palette that goes beyond hardcore. It is possible to find traces of shoegaze in their music, as well as hints of Latin beats, even though these additions have not been very pronounced thus far.
