Tokio Myers is Torville Jones, a classically trained pianist who plays a combination of electronic, pop, hip-hop, and ambient music, but still has his roots firmly planted in classical and neo-classical. His big break, at least in the eyes of the public, came when he won the 2017 season of Britain's Got Talent. Released in the same year, his first album, Our Generation, saw him cast a wide net with respect to his genres. Since then his work acquired a more hybrid approach and instead of bouncing back and forth between them, he began to integrate them into his music more tightly. His classical bits usually have strong impressionist currents underneath, exposing an emotional depth. His electronic parts, on the other hand, tend to be more percussive and pop oriented.
