The Texas Gentlemen

The Texas Gentlemen are a Dallas-based roots rock band made up of a group of studio musicians who have worked with artists like Kris Kristofferson, George Strait, and Leon Bridges on their records and live shows. They were more firmly anchored to elements of country and blues based rock in their first album, but loosened it up considerably on their second, playing around with Dixieland jazz, putting out a little Tower of Power vibe on the funk, mixing in with ballads that could have been from the catalog of Randy Newman or Harry Nilsson. Having performed with a wide array of musicians, the band has a good time bringing all those disparate threads together effortlessly, and their sense of fun is infectious. The level of musicianship they display is as top-notch as one would expect from a band with this kind of background.
