Tamino Amir Moharam Fouad, who goes by his first name alone, is a singer songwriter with dreamy songs and a stunningly good voice that is not too far from Jeff Buckley in timbre, range, and temperament. To be fair, there are also some Thom Yorke influences in the way he delivers his songs, with respect to his high register and the way his voice remains calm and almost still when he soars to the next level. His Arabic roots (Lebanese and Egyptian) find their way into his songs in terms of his melodies and perhaps not frequently enough, in the instrumentation. His recent work also introduces an oud, which adds a lovely dimension to his ballads (see "First Disciple"). His songs tend to be on the melancholic side with a deep sense of yearning packed into them.
