Suki Waterhouse

Suki Waterhouse is a singer/songwriter who was a model and an actor before she put together her first album and emerged as a Sub Pop affiliated artist in 2022, making her way into several big time festivals soon after. What she offers is mid-tempo pop that is built on ballads with subdued melodies that tap into a particularly moody mindset. What she does not do, or at least does not do as often, is to push for a big sound that bursts in a dancey pop with catchy choruses. There is a sense of fragility to her songs that conveys a sense of heartbreak and romantic longing wrapped inside her smoky voice, spread evenly with her even keeled vocals. Some of her earlier singles are collected in the Milk Teeth EP (2022).
