Rutger Hauser is an experimental music collective based in London that has been creating improvisational music since 2013. They focus mainly on live performances and only occasionally capture them in a recording. One of those instances was their 2019 album The Swim originally performed in a community hall in the Faroe Islands. Perhaps influenced by the space itself, their music had a sprawling expansive nature with resonance and reverb. By contrast, their self-titled 2015 album had more chaotic and noise driven pieces. Members Lisa Busby and Ian Stonehouse contribute some found sound components to their music as well. They do not overdub or engage in massive editing after their performance is recorded. What they got on tape is more or less what we get. The mp3s for the first album can be found at the record label's site (Adaadat).
